Where it was ringed:
Thorney Deeps, Chichester Harbour, UK

Where it has been seen:
White Sea, Russia

RY YL was first ringed at Farlington on 6th October 1991 and re-caught and colour ringed at Thorney in August 2002. Since colour-ringing, RY YL was seen at least 20 times. It generally arrived in the Solent in August, and stayed there during its annual moult. By October it had moved 30km to the River Hamble, near Southamtpon, UK, where it wintered before leaving in early April. Sadly, the bird was shot in Russia in July 2004 and its death reported to the BTO.
