Greenshank seen in Norway

Date: 12/05/2014
One of the Greenshanks ringed on Thorney Island on 8 September 2013 has been seen in Norway. This is the first sighting of this bird since ringing, and what good news! It was found at Linnesstranda Naturreservat, which the observer describes as a nature reserve in a fjord, with a bay with reed vegetation, banks at low tide and forest around it. There were 15 other Greenshanks with it.

Only 3 other birds in this project have been found in Norway, and none since 2005, so this report is excellent.
