LY+LY in Scotland – and back home!

Date: 02/09/2015
On 23 June 2015 we received the exciting news that LY+LY had been seen earlier in the month in suitable breeding habitat in Sutherland, Scotland, by one of a team of ecologists carrying out surveys in that area.

This bird was ringed on 23 August 2004 as an adult. It is one of the longest surviving birds in the project. It has been seen in Chichester Harbour every year since then, but there are no other records of it away from the harbour. It was back in the harbour by 23 August 2015 when it was seen in the roost at Thorney Island.
